Primary Recruitment

The Primary recruitment process takes place the weekend prior to the start of the Spring Semester. This process consists of three rounds that highlight what the Panhellenic community stands for and allows participants to learn about each of the seven Panhellenic chapters. Primary recruitment is a values based, mutual selection process that is designed to allow each Potential New Members (PNMs) to learn more about each organization. As PNMs participate in the recruitment process, it is important to find out what values are important to the members of each chapter. It is also important to ask questions about what each chapter expects regarding time commitment, financial obligation, and academic expectations.

To make this process less stressful for PNMs, each participant is assigned a Recruitment Counselor (RC) to help guide them through the process. RCs serve as a resource to help address any questions or concerns a PNM may have throughout the recruitment process.

Philanthropy

Philanthropy is the first of three rounds that PNMs will participate in during the Primary Recruitment process. PNMs will visit all seven chapters to learn more about each organization’s philanthropic mission. Dress for this round is casual. PNMs will be provided a t-shirt to wear which can be paired with any bottoms, shoes, and accessories of choice.

Sisterhood

The second round of the Primary Recruitment process is Sisterhood Round. PNMs will return to up to five chapters during this round. Each organization will share more about their chapter’s values and the benefits of joining a sorority and sisterhood. Dress for this round is semi-casual. PNMs are encouraged to wear something comfortable that helps them express themselves!

Preference

The final round of the Primary Recruitment process is Preference Night. PNMs will return to up to two chapters during this round. PNMs will hear more about why current members chose to join their organization, as well as learn more about the unique sisterhood of each chapter. Participants will have the opportunity to have more in-depth conversations with members about their individual experience and what their sisterhood means to them. Dress for this round is formal.
